In this 2-hour class (a followup class to Intro to Modern Flow Calligraphy) we will work with pointed pens and black ink on layout paper, greeting cards and envelopes. Take your cursive calligraphy to the next level by creating connections between letters and combining words to make short phrases.

Practice will include warm-up exercises to help gain control, connecting common lower case letters and then practice of upper case letters combined with lower case, working with words, popular short phrases and greeting card layout. Students will also learn the instructor's favorite tips and tricks for addressing envelopes. And time allowing, students will also get to try some other colors and kinds of inks including some white and metallics.

The focus will be on having students use their own creativity to combine upper and lower case together and adding some flourishing if desired or other decorative elements.

Students should bring: 1 pointed pen nib (NIKKO G or similar) and straight or oblique penholder. All other supplies are included in class fee: practice papers, inks, calligraphy guidelines sheet, envelope template guide, and handouts with greeting card phrases and envelope layouts to practice.
